CT office project completed in '09

Two of the four buildings remaining to be completed at a Cape Town office development will be ready for occupation at the middle of next year.

The final two can be ready by August 2009.

The triple-A grade Tygerberg Office Park occupies 13 hectares on the high northern slopes of the Tygerberg Hills. The land is leased from the City of Cape Town by the developer. The office park buildings will ultimately cover only 20% or 2,6 hectares of the entire high-security area, which is surrounded by electric fencing, has 24-hour manned access, and also night guard patrols.

Among those already headquartered in the park, which was established in 1998, are Dimension Data, Absa Private Bank, Cell C, British Telecommunications and Thawte Consulting.

Mark Mouton, Atterbury Cape managing director, said that while two tenants had each taken an entire building in the final phase, the last two buildings could be configured for multiple tenancies. At this stage, he said the offices could also be designed to accommodate specific tenant requirements.

The new buildings have a parking ratio of five bays per 100sq m. There are three office levels in each building on top of three levels of parking.
